Conjunctivitis or pink eye usually looks very bad on first diagnosis as the eye can turn very red but the worst part is usually the irritation and itchiness. The pink eye symptoms in viral infections will begin to decrease in 2 to 3 days unless you infected your other eye and then you will begin to suffer the symptoms in your other eye. If you get symptoms of pink eye in your second eye, the symptoms may be more painful than in the first. Soft contact lens wearers are more susceptible to a form of pink eye known as giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC), caused by abnormal immune responses. If you have GPC, ask your eye care practitioner about other options, such as wearing a different kind of lens.
